Too many times I hear people wanting to lose weight and see fast results. The truth is, you most likely didn’t put on 10kgs in a couple weeks, so you’re not going to lose it in a couple weeks.

Think about it, you ARE the person you are today. What does that mean you might be asking me? Do you think the habits you have today, will be the same to lose and then maintain a healthy weight of 10-20kgs lighter than you are now? The answer is no. Most likely, if you are carrying 10-20kgs excess fat,  there are areas in your diet that can be cleaned up.

Losing weight is the hard part, but maintaining can (and will) be easy if you take the time to lose it, by focusing on each day to be the cleanest version of you. You will slowly be kicking old habits out the door, and replacing them with new, good habits.

My advice for you:

  • Set a target weight or clothes size you want to achieve
  • Think back to the last time you were that weight/size, and ask yourself, is this a realistic goal? It needs to be realistic.
  • Set a date/time-frame to achieve this goal by. You NEED a deadline, or else you will always ‘start again on Monday’ (something I hear too often).
  • TAKE PHOTOS. You see yourself everyday, it can be hard to notice changes until you compare photos

  • Focus week by week. For example, your first week can be not buying anything for lunch, you need to pack your lunch every day. Then carry this goal on and add another focus point for week two. Lets say your week two goal can be cutting out your flat whites for a long black or tea.
  • Repeat step 4, week by week, carrying on your past weeks focus point and add a new one.

These are small changes BUT they are helping you kick old habits out the door, and replace them with new, better habits. My clients who have the best results follow this method.

I look at the big picture. If someone can lose weight AND keep it off for good, I KNOW they have changed their lifestyle and put their health into a positive direction.
